Equality vs. Diversity

Our humanity in many areas of the world has been trending towards equality of all people in various areas of life. For the most part we tend to agree that equality is the correct choice. At the same time, in many professional environments there is also a push for diversity. Leaders of organizations are looking to work towards inclusion of what they believe are different types of people. As with most things, the ideas, beliefs and actions of people in society are based on their vision of themselves and how the world should operate. This is not surprising considering this is the way we have been trained. Most of us learned to follow the norms of our society to not be outcast or judged. We haven't been taught to see ourselves as spiritual beings that are here to experience life in physical form. However, we do have the choice to give meaning to the terms of equality and diversity. We can see it merely from a personal human position based on societal norms or we can consider a more expanded spiritual outlook. #spirituality
How can we define equality and diversity and what is their relationship to one another?
When we only take into consideration our human life perspective, we get clouded by the belief systems that are held in this world to be true. We will never come to a conclusion or agreement this way, as the foundation for such arguments are based on constructs of separation as opposed to spiritual truths where division cannot exist. This world separates all things in a variety of categories. Among many other things, we have been labeled by race, gender, economics, and sexual preference. Our society chooses to look at humanity from this perspective and subsequently forms biases. It then attempts to rectify its biases by enacting laws, creating committees, building organizations, etc. to make things ‘right’. This creates a drama that is endless and without resolution because it is never arising from the basic essence of wholeness. We forget who we are and have difficulty understanding that outside of the labeling we are simply all spiritual beings that are having a learning experience.
To look at this in greater depth we would need to do so from a more macro spiritual perspective given that this is our true nature. If we accept that we were all created by the same energy, which we may call God, the Creator or Source, our essence must have all of the same characteristics as our creator. This is similar to us having our parents' DNA to demonstrate our relationship with them. There is an equality to our being because we were all created by and made of the same God energy, which is love. This means we all vibrate love in essence, but when we only identify with being human and all of its stories and turmoils, we suppress this loving nature. We can consider that if we were all created equally, we must all have a purpose and will all eventually be destined to learn the same things and reach the same destination if one such exists.
When we move through life, we have the ability to make choices and direct our path, which is also known as having free will. Our choices are what differentiates us from one another. We end up taking different paths and learning in different ways. Even though our ‘destination’ may eventually be the same, we don’t go about getting there the same way. And for the infinite number of beings that have been created there are infinite possibilities of choice to be made and paths to be formed. This creates the diversity of our multiverse. Considering that the Creator is an infinite and eternal energy, it can be easily fathomed that its creation is manifesting infinitely and eternally as well. This infinite and eternal manifestation technically allows for points to be so apparently distant and different, that they can be considered opposite, good/bad, light/dark. However, the apparent opposing views are only a perspective in the grandness of creation.
This leads us to the understanding that although we are EQUAL in essence because we come from the same source, we are also DIVERSE because we manifest what we have learned in an infinite number of ways. If we were granted free will, it is because the expression of who we are in essence cannot only be manifested in one way. In fact, the diversity of all things is essential to understanding the whole of creation. The Creator is so grand and unknown that it cannot be understood in only one manner. The concept of eternity escapes our comprehension. We can only attempt to see different aspects of it and/or conclude what it is not.
So, what does this tell us?
Equality demonstrates that we all have the same origin, and no one is better equipped than another. There are no special beings or favorites. We were all given the same tools to work with and are free to make choices. This tells us that when we compare ourselves to others and believe they are better or worse off than us, we are only witnessing one angle of the truth. We don’t see a greater picture within creation because we tend to only identify ourselves with our physical bodies, our personality, belief systems and all the perceptions we have accepted to be true from our current life experiences. But we are so much more than that and our experiences span more than just this lifetime. #equality
On the other hand, diversity shows us that we have the ability to express our true nature in unique ways and that this is granted to us by design. Another way of looking at it is that God expresses in an infinite number of ways through each one of us. This shows us there is little value in making judgements about others and expecting them to behave according to our expectations. Instead, we can see each one of us as different aspects of the whole that reflect the grandiosity of creation. It provides the space to respect others for their unique position in life remembering that they are also learning as we are and may not be manifesting all the light and love that they are in essence, because they are caught up in the illusion and constraints of this world, their personality, beliefs and experiences. They have forgotten their true origin. #diversity
We can observe how thoughts and actions are based on people’s beliefs of how the world should function and not necessarily reflect the truth. The actual truth will always resonate with our essence, feel harmonious and promote unity. On the contrary, the stories that we have been told and have accepted over time about our differences or in other cases how we need to all be the same, have arisen from and continue to perpetuate separation and fear. As we begin to realign our understanding about ourselves and others, the limitations and dissociations that currently exist will start to lose value. We will no longer need to create distorted ways to ensure that equality and diversity exist according to biased definitions because we have changed the way we see ourselves and the world. We will no longer rely on others to tell us how to feel and behave to make things ‘right’ because equality and diversity will be felt internally. Our essence would simply be demonstrating the divergent aspects of divine loving energy that we each represent as creations of the Absolute. #ourtruenature
The importance of considering our EQUAL yet DIVERSE nature is to have clarity over the equality in our essence without feeling that we ALL need to express or behave the same way. It provides us with the basis for acknowledging that we all have a loving nature but also the ability to express our individual sovereignty in a different direction. We all have indeed been created to reactivate and express the same unconditional love of our creator, have been given the same tools including free will and are destined to learn or become aware of all of the same truths sooner or later. But this does not mean we should always follow the accepted norms of others. We may not express our loving nature to the same degree or express our truths in the same way. Our diversity should NEVER lead us to believe we are better or worse than others. We are simply in a different place. Our equality should NEVER lead us to suppress our discernment and uniqueness. It is meant to be shared.
I am the essence that I am. I am a spark of the Creator, individualized in pure perfection to exemplify its divinity, just as I am.
